For people living in North America, the end of May symbolizes the beginning of summer: for Americans, it’s celebrated with the Memorial Day weekend while here in Canada, we celebrate its beginning with Victoria Day. Over the long weekend last week, my parents came to Montreal and I got to play tour guide with them. One of my favourite places to go with people who don’t come to Montreal often, or have never been before, is the Old Port. This historical district of Montreal has an array of beautiful churches, delicious restaurants, all along cobblestone roads that are occasionally shared with (smelly) horse-drawn carriages. These photos were taken on Sunday night, on my parents’ last day in Montreal and one of the hottest days yet in Montreal. For such an occasion, I kept things really simple and opted for super-light fabrics, like my one of my favourite micromodal t-shirts from Aritzia and what I dare call my “signature” Alexander McQueen silk scarf. As for my purse, I picked it up at Holt Renfrew as part of an exclusive collection Tory Burch is doing for Canada’s luxury retailer. As part of Tory Burch’s “FEED” campaign, all proceeds from the sales of these bags goes towards providing nutrition for underprivileged children. The bag also comes in a red and blue colour combination, but I think most people know I’m very impartial towards pink and navy blue combinations (as you can see from the scarf I’m wearing).
