And just like that, Montreal Fashion Week is over! I don’t regret taking Wednesday off to get back to normal people things (like cleaning my apartment, eating, sleep, etc.), but I think Day 4 was by far my favourite; featuring up-and-coming designers through the Target Emerging Designer Award and Telio Design Competition, these competitions for developing talent breathe fresh air into a week often filled with well-known designers. More on that in my full post on Montreal Fashion Week, which will (hopefully) be up this weekend.
For the final day, I decided to stick with the metallic trend I’ve been guilty of over this edition of Montreal Fashion Week. I’m hating the snow and cold that’s been pummeling Montreal for the last two months so much that I couldn’t resist wearing shorts any longer – even if they are velvet and had to be worn over tights (which nearly resulted in frostbite anyway). And conveniently, I’ve found wearing these super-high Topshop platforms does more than just make my legs seem to go on forever: they’re extremely helpful for looking over people’s heads in crowds and finding lost fashion friends.
