I can’t believe that I’m leaving London tomorrow! I’ve had a fantastic time here in England, but my time here has gone by all too quickly. My overall impression of London can be summed up in the following words: edgy, historic, friendly, and alive. While it’s true that London is very expensive (I used up all of my cash on taxis in just two days), I can already tell that this will be a city I will be coming back to in the near future…
On our second day we explored Knightsbridge, an area of London that is home to Harrod’s, Harvey Nichols (as seen in the background), the Burberry flagship store, Maclaren race car dealerships, and Rolex. Naturally, I had to explore London and all of its fantastic shopping. Despite many temptations, I exercised great restraint and ended up with a few cashmere pieces from a liquidation sale and a few pieces from Topshop. Speaking of Topshop, if you’re visiting London I highly recommend that you check out their location in Knightsbridge – the salespeople are extremely friendly and they have a fantastic personal shopping set-up. If you want to try on clothes, you are taken into a separate section of the store, complete with an espresso machine, white leather couches, and several changing rooms the size of my apartment back in Montreal. Complimentary shoes, purses and jewelry are inside each room, so that you can create a complete look with the clothes you are looking to buy. I would have taken pictures, but sadly my boyfriend had my camera at the time! Rumour has it that this same set-up exists in Topshop’s New York and Chicago locations, but sadly nothing like this can be found in Canada.
I’m off to enjoy my last full day here in London, and then I’ll be in Paris until Saturday. Be sure to check out my first post here from Europe, in case you already haven’t!
