Despite rose gold becoming a huge trend almost a year ago, I’m still coming to grips with how to style it. Since I don’t own very much jewelry in this hot metallic hue, I’m often forced to pair it with other shades of gold and silver. I’ve been known to have a sort of “phobia” with mixing gold and silver jewelry together, for fear of looking too “bohemian”, and sadly I’m feeling the same way about rose gold with other metals. With time, I told myself that gold and silver looked perfectly fine together, in addition to receiving my beloved Michael Kors gold and silver watch for Christmas which helped me become more comfortable with mixing different metals. Over time, I’m hoping I can become more comfortable with wearing rose gold and other metals together, but it’s true if I go out wearing rose gold with my white gold Italian ring, I feel a tad uncomfortable. So at this point, I can’t say I really like the two colours together, but I’m optimistic that I will get over this in due time.
On another note, most of my readers know I’m obsessed with Stylestalker, a cult-hit label from Australia that creates beautiful clothes for the fashion conscious girl in mind. For some reason, I had my eye on this dress for a very long time – perhaps I was feeling nostalgic for my elementary and high school days where I had to wear a kilt? I’m really not sure, but one thing I knew was that I wasn’t prepared to pay full price for this dress. Having been stalking (appropriate, no?) their website ever since the Fall/Winter 2012 lookbook went live a few weeks ago, I’m fairly certain that this Stylestalker piece will not be my last…
