Sunday on the Rideau Canal

If I had to pick one of my favourite places to visit year-round in Canada, it would have to be the Rideau Canal. In the winter, it becomes the longest skating rink in the world while in the summer, people can be found tanning along the grass-lined bike paths or leisurely strolling along the canal’s banks. Despite only being in Ottawa for a mere thirty-six hours this past weekend, I knew I had to find the time to enjoy one of the world’s prettiest (in my opinoin) UNESCO World Heritage Sites. For a day filled with bike riding, playing in a park, and then driving back to Montreal, I needed an outfit to keep up with me. Perhaps faux leather shorts weren’t the smartest choice on a day that broke past the 30 degree mark, but alas I went ahead with them anyway. Also on my trip to Ottawa I finally caved, and after months of deliberation finally purchased a pair of TOMS – but in black glitter, of course. I’m looking forward to finding a fashionable way to wear these shoes…stay tuned.
